SUMMER SCRAPBOOK PAGE

Hello Crafters! Here are a couple of 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 scrapbook pages we're going to create on June 19th at the Buckeye Chamber of Commerce. We'll create several projects including this summer layout. I used one of the "returning" new colors; Pacific Point cs; I also used Old Olive and Pumpking Pie c/s. I think the Pacific Point is a great summer blue. The stamp set used is Tart and Tangy (#111514), what's better for summer than fruit? I made the watermelon slice with the 1 1/4 circle punch and Real Red, Whisper White and Old Olive c/s; I punched them, layered them then cut a "slice", cute I think. Thanks for visiting!

TROPICAL PARTY

Hi Crafters! Today's share is a card created with a stampset and dsp from the Summer Mini. The stamp set used is Tropical Party (#120081 clear mount). The card is Kraft c/s; when our new colors are released in July, Kraft will become Crumb Cake and I'm so excited about that. Currently Kraft does not have matching ink but Crumb Cake will! I used VersaMark to stamp the Palm Tree images then stamped and cut out the flowers and the sprig of greenery. I layered the Island Oasis dsp (#117173) at the top and bottom of the card. You may be thinking why would I cut out so many flowers but actually they are pretty easy to cut out. This stamp set is too cute and there are party favor boxes (#117178) to match! ADORABLE! Thanks for visiting!!

SUMMER MINI CARD SHARE

Hi Crafters! I wanted to share a card made with some of the products from the Summer Mini. The stamp set used is Elements of Style (#118611). I stamped the Very Vanilla c/s layer and the butterfly which was die cut using the SUp! Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Big Shot; I used markers to color in the flowers and the leaves. The card is Rose Red c/s and I embossed the Creamy Caramel c/s layer with the SUp! Square Lattice textured impressions embossing folder (#119976). I added Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and a pearl from the Pretties Kit. Does it sound bad to say I'm very pleased with the outcome? Thanks for visiting!

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK MONTH

Hi Crafters! Thought I would share a 6x6 page layout my class made last Saturday. The c/s used is Kraft, Blush Blossom and Chocolate Chip. The stamp set is Baroque Motifs. I love 6x6 scrapbooking. You'd be surprised how fast you can finish an entire album! Give it a try if you haven't tried one yet, I think you'll like it. I am going to post another scrapbook project later this week. Thanks for visiting!

FUN WITH SMOOCH SPRITZ

Hi Crafters! Smooch Spritz...Smooch Spritz. Saying that makes me smile! One of the new products in the Summer Mini is the new Smooch Spritz. It's a spray that comes in four colors; Log Cabin (#119921), Gold Glow (#118770), Silver Foil (#118771), and Vanilla Shimmer (#118772). This is some fun stuff to add to your card making, scrapbooking, all paper crafting. Keep in mind a couple of simple rules when applying this spray: 1) don't spray too close to your project and 2) make sure you cover up any thing you do not want to get sprayed! I found out WHY we also offer the "Color Catcher" (#121093) in the Summer mini! : ) I wanted to share the following card that I created with Kraft c/s and Raspberry Lemonade dsp. The daisies were die cut with the Daisies Flower #2 Bigz Die. The speckles or "spritz" you see is the Log Cabin Spritz spray. Isn't it cool? I sprayed it before I applied the daisies but I think it also would have looked good if I would have spritzed those daisies! Thanks for visiting!

TRASH TO PARTY FAVOR

Hello Crafters! Yesterday I was enjoying a zero point (W.W.) sugar free Jello cup but instead of throwing the cup away I inadvertently put it in the sink for washing! Later I did wash it and thought; well, now what. And here is what I came up with. I saw on SCS a birthday cake type project with a battery opperated tea lite which gave me the idea for the top of this project. This is my test project so the dsp is from the Occasions mini and no longer available but how cute is this idea? I'm not through trying projects with these little treasures! I used the Scallop Circle #2 die then used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut a circle out of the Scallop to insert the jello cup. I covered the bottom of the jello cup in the same manner used to cover the SUp! Treat Cups. Lastly I added a thin strip of dsp to the bottom of the cup. To me it looks a little like a cupcake! Thanks for visiting!

FROM THE CATALOG

Hi Crafters! I love our Idea Book and Catalogs, they are seriously full of layout/design IDEAS. I have a couple of old ones and I enjoy just looking through them for inspiration. Stampin' Up! demonstrators are never at a loss for ideas thanks to the creativity that is shared from the Home Office. So this card is a design idea from the current 09/10 catalog, page 104. I kept the color and layout idea and changed the stampset and used a butterfly instead of a flower. I used Melon Mambo, Sierra Sand and Basic Black c/s; the stamp set is Elements of Style from the current Summer Mini. The flower was die cut with the SUp! Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. Thanks for visiting!

FOND FAREWELL

Hi Crafters! Today's card uses one of the colors that we will say good-bye to when the new catalog comes out; Cameo Coral. I didn't use that color a lot in the past but doesn't it look great with the Bermuda Bay In-Color? We'll be saying farewell to that color also. The Cameo Coral c/s was embossed with the SUp! Square Lattice Folder from the Summer Mini. The small flower embellishments were punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack also from the Summer Mini. Thanks for visiting!

WEDDING CARD

Hi Crafters! What happens when you sit down at your stamp table and there are scraps of white cardstock laying around? You get an idea for a wedding card! Here is a simple card I made using Whisper White c/s and some scraps of Brushed Silver c/s. I added some Dazzling Diamonds and rhinestones from the Occasions Mini (which will also be available in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog!) and a Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon bow and called it done. I may add a sentiment stamp before I send it out. Thanks for visiting!

CONFESSION

Hi Crafters! Time for me to come clean about something. Over a year ago I bought Texturz Plates (#114512) for my Big Shot. I fell in love with them but after I received them I couldn't for the life of me get them to properly texture my cardstock. I tried every suggestion I received but could not get them to work. Then I saw a card posted by Tracy Woodman-Raymond on Late Night Stampers and she indicated that she had used the Texturz Plates! I emailed her right away to find out her secret to get the plate to properly "texture". She was nice enough to email me back and she told me that she sprayed her cardstock with alcohol!!! Yes, that's right! I thought, what do I have to lose? So I dug those plates up from a drawer in my stamp room, pulled some Very Vanilla cardstock, sprayed it with spray hand sanitizer (the primary ingredient being alcohol!) and low and behold it worked! No one was more surprised than me! I layered the Very Vanilla on Old Olive after sponging it with a little Creamy Caramel classic ink. I'm not sure if you can tell but I also clear embossed several elements of the texture for a little depth. The bird and sentiment are from the stampset Elements of Style (#118611) from the 2010 Summer Mini Catalog. Thanks for visiting!

ANOTHER TEAM MEETING PROJECT

Hi Crafters! Here's a second card we created at our Team Meeting last Saturday. My upline, Jennifer, brought all of the great projects for us to create. This card uses one of my favorite stamp sets, Friends 24-7 (#113218). You'll see I've used this on a couple of other projects I posted previously. Cardstock used is Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Whisper White. We used the "rock and roll" method to stamp the background on the Whisper White c/s used for the card layer. First stamp the image in one color, here I used Regal Rose, then "roll" it in the second color. that would be the Chocolate Chip you see on the tips of the image. After stamping the bird image in Chocolate Chip I water-colored the tummy with Regal Rose. Can you see the "speckles or splatter" on the card; we used the Color Spritzer Tool and the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker to get that cool look. Thanks for visiting!!

QUICK MOTHER'S DAY GIFT

Hello Crafters! Today a young woman called me for a quick gift idea she and or her kids could create for her mother. After giving it some thought I came up with this bookmark idea. I used Perfect Plum and Very Vanilla c/s. The stamp set is Things I Love (#115229). I layered the bookmark with Vellum and stamped the sentiment with Staze On. To complete the project I included Very Vanilla Taffetta ribbon and stamped, cut out and "glittered" the chocolate, purse and shoe images, using Dazzling Diamonds of course. I added these 3 images on top of the vellum, thus allowing me to add adhesive just under the vellum on top of the same images. Not sure if you can see it clearly in the picute but I also included 3 clear beads from the Pretties Kit, I added it to the ribbon with silver elastic cord before adhering the ribbon. Thanks for visiting!

TEAM PROJECT

Hello Crafters! This week-end my team captain Jennifer brought other team members down from Williams to Buckeye for a team meeting. We has such fun talking about business, making projects and eating a wonderful lunch that Jennifer provided for all of us. One of the things I love about this business is the team I'm on. Jennifer is a wonderful, creative leader and the rest of the team is such fun! Nancy and Donna came and shared projects and my own team member, Linda also came and got to meet everyone and I think enjoyed meeting them as much as they did her. The card I'm sharing today is one of the projects Jennifer brought for each of us to create. The technique we used on the Whisper White c/s layer is called "collage"; that is stamping several different stamp images in different color inks to create a beautiful background. The two stamp sets used are Just Riding (#115008) and Extreme Elements (#115181). Both are very cool stamp sets that I do not own...yet! LOL! The dsp and brad are from the Occasions Mini and no longer available so I won't spend time discussing those but I just had to share this project. Thanks for visiting!
