LAST SAB PROJECT

Hey Crafters! So today is the last day of Sale-a-Bration and as promised my last SAB project post. The card is Soft Suede c/s layered with Springtime Vintage dsp. The stamped sentiment is from Engraved Greetings. You're probably thinking, hey I didn't see that stampset in the SAB mini catalog. And you're correct; however on the last page of the mini is a list of stampsets you can select as your SAB item from the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog and this is the one I selected. Love it! I used the 2 3/8 Scallop Punch with Soft Suede c/s and layered with Very Vanilla c/s that was die cut with the Big Shot and the Circles #2 die, it's the second to the largest circle. The sentiment is stamped using Soft Suede classic ink. Farewell Sale-a-Bration! Until next year. Thanks for visiting!

6X6 BLISS

Hey Crafters! Today's project share is a 6x6 scrapbook page using the Sale-a-Bration stampset, Bliss. Is it okay if I share some personal stuff? The guy on the far right is my husband, we went to Junior High and High School together if you can believe that! Anyway this picture was taken the last day of school, our Junior High graduation...check out the "skinny" pants! And the kids today thought they started it! LOL So the day this picture was taken was the day my "now hubby" asked me to be his girlfriend! Okay enough of that! The c/s used for this page is Riding Hood Red layered with Love Letter dsp (Idea Book and Catalog 2010/2011) and First Edition dsp (Occasions Mini). The button is Riding Hood Red but it's retired. The ink used is both Basic Black and Riding Hood Red classic inks. Thanks for visiting!

Today's share uses the Bliss stampset from the Sale-a-Bration mini catalog. I am going to miss this stampset when SAB is over! Cardstock used for this card is Riding Hood Red layered with Very Vanilla c/s, and that is layered with Love Letter dsp. The stamped image on the dsp is embossed with black embossing powder. I'll be posting more projects using SAB products as SAB ends on the 31st of this month. Thanks for visiting!

LEADERSHIP INSPIRATION

Hi Crafters! Today's project share is based on a card we did as a Make-and-Take at Leadership in Nashville. I changed the color scheme and didn't have the punch they used so I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch. The card is Crumb Cake c/s layered with a piece of Night of Navy c/s. The stampset used is Clearly for You which we received at Leadership. The new 2 1/2" Circle Punch (Occasions Mini) was used to cut the Chocolate Chip c/s, layered with the 2 3/8" Crumb Cake scallop piece. Not sure if you can see it but the bottom portion of the card is crimped with a Crimper. To add a little sparkly I spritzed the card with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz spray. Thanks for visiting!

EASTER LAYERS

Hello Crafters! Today's project share is a card designed for Easter but I think the sentiment can be changed and the card would be great for birthday, a thank you or just to say hi to a friend. The card is Pear Pizzazz c/s layered with Rose Red c/s and Springtime Vintage dsp from the Occasions Mini. This was used for the green striped layer and the two thin vanilla with flowers layers. Soft Suede classic ink was used to stamp the flower image from the Nature Walk stampset and the sentiment from the Easter Blossoms stampset both from the Occasions Mini. Rose Red Vintage Flower adornments (Occasions Mini) were added to the thin dsp strips. Very Vanilla c/s was layered on Rose Red dsp for the stamped images also from the Nature Walk stampset. I truly love that birdcage. The flower image was stamped with Pear Pizzaaz classic ink stamped off once and the birdcage with Soft Suede classic ink. I like how the dsp is kind of vintagy looking, it adds to the beauty of this card I believe. Have a great week, thanks for visiting!

MOVERS & SHAPERS TAG

Hey Crafters! Happy Saturday! Today I spent some wonderful time in my Stamp room being creative. Some days the ideas just flow, others I have to work hard for one completed project! Am I the only one? Does that happen to you? So today's project share is one of the ideas I worked on, its a tag using the heart die in the Movers & Shapers die. Yes, I could have used our heart punch but it would limit where I could place the heart, using the Movers & Shapers die I was able to have the heart a little higher up on the tag. I used my paper cutter to cut two tags, one I put through the Big Shot with the Movers & Shapers die. Before embellishing I used Tea Stain ink from our Distressing Essentials to "age" the tag. Other products used are fabric from Springtime Vintage fabric in the Occasions Mini, Newsprint dsp, crochet ribbon, Basic Pearls, a button (Neutrals), and Vintage Trinkets. The stampset used is Easter Blossoms in the Occasions Mini. After adhering the picture behind the tag to show through the heart I adhered the second tag so complete the project. I'm sure I'll be making more tags of this type as it was a fun project. Thanks for visiting!

ENGRAVED GREETINGS

Hello Crafters! Today's project share uses a stampset called Engraved Greetings that I received FREE because of Sale-A-Bration! Yay free! In the back of the Sale-a-Bration mini catalog is a list of stamps that are in the current Idea Book and Catalog that can be ordered as a Sale-a-Bration set, how do you get it free? With an order of $50 or greater you can select any one item from the SAB catalog! Okay, back to the card...the card is Crumb Cake c/s layered with Pretty in Pink dsp. The "clipboard" is also Crumb Cake c/s layered with a scrap piece of Newsprint dsp, Chocolate Chip was used to stamp the image, it was "stamped off" once. The button is from the Sweet Stitches designer buttons in the Occasions Mini. How do you like the "sparkly" look? I got that by putting a few drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint in alcohol; actually I put the drops in spray hand-sanitizer as most of it is 80+% alcohol. Then I sprayed the card, love it! Thanks for visiting!

SWEET STITCHES

Hey Crafters! Ever since Stampin' Up! came out with fabric I have had the sewing bug, I can't sew mind you but I really want to learn. Well last Friday evening I was able to attend a class of mostly beginners and I made two small pillows (see below, not SUp! fabric unfortunately). Yay me! I was so happy to finally try it and I like it a lot so now I think I'll purchase a cheap first time sewing machine and see if I can become better by practicing. So staying with that theme today's project share is a card that uses our Sweet Stitches dsp (#121781) from our Occasions Mini. The card is Wild Wasabi c/s layered with Very Vanilla c/s and then that layered with the Sweet Stitches dsp. The button cut-out layer is also part of the dsp, I cut it from a sheet then layered it with Dimensionals. Two of the buttons were made with the Sweet Button Embosslit (#121813 Occasions Mini) and two are Bitty Buttons. The sentiment is from the Easter Blossoms stampset (#121905) also from the Occasions Mini. The flower was made by punching scraps of the Sweet Stitiches dsp with the Scallop Punch, the brad is new and in the Occasions Mini, its a Sweet Stitches fabric brad. Seriously though, doesn't this dsp and brad just make you want to sew, or in my case, give sewing a try?? Thanks for visiting!

"SCRAPPING" MEMORIES

Hello Crafters! This week-end I spent some time doing what I love...STAMPING! I know you're surprised! lol Seriously though some great ideas/layouts popped in my head and I was happy with most of my results. My projects today are a couple of 12x12 scrapbook pages I created. The brown page is of my great grandparents and the black page is of my mother and her sister. What I love most about scrapbooking is writing notes about the pictures and/or the subjects in the pictures. Some day my own great grandchildren will look at the albums I leave behind and know that not only did I create them but that they are reading my own words in my own handwriting, I imagine that will be cool to them. I have very few things with my mothers handwriting on it and none at all with any grandparents handwriting. I think your own writing on scrapbook pages is the most important part of your page, even more that a beautiful layout, of course that is just my humble opinion. But imagine what it would be like to find a note written by your own great, great's; wouldn't it be awesome? Yeah, it would to me too! The page above is Soft Suede c/s layered with First Edition dsp (Occasions Mini) and Very Vanilla c/s. The Soft Suede was stamped using the Button, Button stampset (Occasions Mini) and VersaMark. Then I used the Sweet Buttons embosslits and Very Vanilla c/s to make the faux buttons on the right of the pictures. The other stampset used on this page is Nature Walk which is also from the Occasions Mini. The page below uses Basic Black c/s layered with Basic Gray and Cherry Cobbler c/s, the Basic Gray is layered with Newsprint dsp. The other dsp used is Love Letter which is in the Idea Book and Catalog. Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting!
