MEMORIAL DAY WEEK-END

More Blogger Problems; wrote the following on 5/29 and have not been able to upload on my blog! UGH!

Hey Crafters! Just a quick post here in recognition of Memorial Day. All branches of the Armed Forces have a special place in my heart! Something you may be tired of hearing but is true; Freedom is not FREE and I thank every man and woman that have served or are currently serving from the bottom of my heart. I also send blessings to their families for the support they give their loved one(s). My project share is a quick and easy card made with the Movers and Shapers die and the Big Shot. The c/s is Night of Navy and the red star is punched with our Real Red glitter paper, which is still available should you need some! Thanks for visiting.

UNABLE TO POST

Hey Crafters! Sorry for the lengthy delay in posting; as the wedding facilitator at our church I got super busy the last couple of weeks! Then when I went to post this article on 5/24 blogger wouldn't let me update! SORRY, but here's a quick 12x12 layout I want to post. The c/s is Rich Razzleberry and the dsp from the Bold Brights pack. I'll have more to post in a couple of days. Thanks for visiting!

MORE SCRAPPIN'

Hey Crafters! I'm really on a roll with my scrapbooking. Normally I like to stay on theme, event; all that stuff. You may do that too. But this month I am picking out pictures I want to scrap then just creating a layout around them and it's actually easy. It works better of course if you are using a three-ring binder scrapbook album so you can add the pictures where you want within it. Can I share a second thing? How do you journal? I mean, do you hand write your journaling or do you type them then cut and add to your layout? I like to hand write mine. My mother died in 2005 and I don't have many things with her handwriting on them, but every now and then I run across a picture and find her writing on the back and my heart skips a beat! I remember her writing and I love to see it. So I think about my kids, grandchildren and even great grandchildren and them looking through all of the albums I'm creating and can just imagine one of them saying, "look here, this is Nana's own handwriting"! Okay so on with the share, the page base is Old Olive with Bold Brights Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise dsp layers. The stampset used is Simple Friendship (#113397) which is currently 30% discounted for May to celebrate National Scrapbook Month. I also used Jumble Alphabet stampset to stamp "Maui". Have a great week, thanks for visiting!

CELEBRATING SCRAPBOOKING

Hi Crafters! Sorry I've been gone a few days. When I tried to post two days ago blogger was down. Today's share is a 12x12 scrapbook page. The page is Bashful Blue c/s; I added some contrast to the top portion of the page using Whisper White classic ink. I did this by applying the ink pad directly to the paper. This ink is tacky so I had to let it dry for a little while. The strip of dsp is Tangerine Tango from our Bold Brights paper pack. The sentiments are stamped on Whisper White c/s using the Wonderful Favorites stampset. I love a simple layout where the pictures te the story, don't you? Thanks for visiting!

MEMORY DISPLAY

Hi Crafters! Today's share is a 3D item I designed by "mistake". I wanted to design a box on my own without directions from the internet or from another demonstrator but happily I made a mistake and came up with this memory box/frame thing that I call a memory display. I made this one in rememberance of my mother; she died in 2005 and I miss her lots. The "box" is Rose Red c/s, the dsp is Newsprint and Springtime Vintage (no longer available from the Occasions Mini). Then I used losts of embellishments: Rose Red and Crumb Cake seam binding, Basic Rhinestones, Beveled Windowpanes, Trinket Keys, Vanilla Rosette, Springtime Vintage designer button (most from the Occasions Mini some will be carried over just not sure which ones)...I just went a little crazy! But I LOVE the results. I made the "banner" using the large star punch and Tiny Tags stampset with a Stampin' Write marker and inking a small "m" then the "o". Thanks for visiting!

A 6x6 LAYOUT

Hey Crafters! Today's share is another scrapbook layout, this one is 6x6. I love that we have different options for scrapbook layouts. Back in the 80's when scrapbooking became trendy the only option was 12x12 but no more! Now we have 6x6, 8x8, 8 1/2 x 8 1/2, 8 1/2 x 11 and 12x12. The page is Melon Mambo with layers of dsp from the Bold Brights paper pack, I used Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. Very simple layout but I'm happy out it turned out. Happy stamp-scrapping! Thanks for visiting!

MAY IS NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK MONTH

Hello Crafters! To celebrate National Scrapbook month I will be posting more scrapbook pages than cards this month. This first layout is an 8x8 page on Crumb Cake c/s that I actually put together on Easter Sunday last month. The dsp is from two different paper packs; the Tempting Turquoise from the Brights pack and the Pear Pizzaz from the Hostess Level 1 In-Color paper pack in the current Idea Book and Catalog. Stampin' Up! is also celebrating National Scrapbook month with some specials, click on the picture above to view the specials. Thanks for visiting!
