SWEET PEA

Hello Crafters! As today is the last day to order from the Occasions Mini I thought I'd pay tribute to a couple of items I really liked in that mini catalog. The Sweet Pea dsp and the Sweet Pea felt flowers! The card is Pretty in Pink c/s layered with the Sweet Pea dsp and Chocolate Chip c/s that I punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch from the SAB catalog but that punch will still be available in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I added Pretty in Pink satin ribbon and of course the felt Sweet Pea flowers. You'll notice that I did not include a sentiment; as I mentioned in a previous post I like to keep a few cards without a sentiment so that one can be added at a moments notice. It's a great time saver and comes in handy for those unexpected events or if you don't have time to create a card from scratch. Thanks for visiting!

A CARD FOR TWINS

Hello Crafters! A friend asked me to make her a card to give to her friend that is expecting twins, so I thought I'd share it here today. Not knowing the sex of the babies I decided to use Certainly Celery c/s for the card, you can't go wrong with green and yellow! I embossed the Whisper White c/s with Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder. I layered 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 dsp from the Tall Tales dsp under the 2x2 Whisper White c/s that I stamped the elephant on. The stamp set used is Animal Stories. I added So Saffron striped grosgrain ribbon and a Certainly Celery button from the Sherbert designer button kit to complete the card. My friend liked it, I hope you enjoy it also. Thanks for visiting!

MORE VINTAGE

Hello Crafters! I wanted to share another card I created with the Vintage Vogue stamp set. This set is in the Occasions Mini and available through April 30th. I wanted a simple design and I think this card fits that idea. The card is Close to Cocoa c/s, I rolled the Very Vintage wheel on Very Vanilla c/s with Close to Cocoa Classic ink. The flowers are stamped with Elegant Eggplant and Pretty in Pink, I added pearls from the Pretties Kit and a strip of Pretty in Pink satin ribbon to complete the design. You'll notice I didn't add a sentiment, I like to have a stash of cards without sentiments so that I can add for whatever occasion may come up. Thanks for visiting!

FOR ALL YOU DO

Hello Crafters! Here's a fun card using the For All You Do stamp set (#115360). I wanted this stamp set for the longest time but I kept putting off purchasing it because....well, because my wish list was a little long! LOL Well, I didn't have to purchase it after all! I got it FREE from Stampin' Up! as a Thank You! Don't you LOVE FREE??!! The card is Sahara Sand c/s which I layered with Sweet Pea dsp and the squares are Rose Red c/s. I added some ribbon and some bling on the flowers and butterfly which are on the small squares. Thanks for visiting!

UPSY DAISY THANKS

Hi Crafters! I had fun creating this card even though my first attempt was discarded! I haven't used this stamp set for quite a while, it's called Upsy Daisy. I decided to pull it out as I needed a thank you card for a friend. The card is Soft Suede c/s and I layered Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay c/s. All of these colors are 09/10 In Colors. I then used Whisper White c/s to cut a Top Note with the Big Shot. I inked the daisy image with Bermuda Bay then used a Blender Pen to remove the ink from the tips of the daisys and used a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker to color in the tips just to give the daisys a different look. The sentiment is from the Upsy Daisy stamp set also. Soft Suede ribbon and a mini clip with a Linen Thread bow finished the project. Thanks for visiting!

BIG SHOT FUN

Hi Crafters! I hope you had a great week-end. I didn't actually complete all of the items on my "to do" list but I figure there's always next week-end!
I wanted to make a card using my Big Shot but what to do...I came up with this card that I'm happy to share with you. The card is Kraft c/s; I then used a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pale Plum c/s that I put through the Big Shot with the Circles #2 die (114526). After that I put it back through the Big Shot using the Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder (#117335) from the Occasions Mini. At this point I discovered it looked a lot better in front of me than it did in my mind. I used scraps of dsp from Cottage Wall dsp (#115671) behind the circles...it still needed something so I cut butterflies with the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (#118138). I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the butterflies and called it complete. I am conducting a class at the Buckeye Chamber of Commerce on May 15th and this will be one of the projects! Thanks for visiting!

MATCHBOX PARTY FAVORS

Hi Crafters! I decided to play with my Matchbox die and Big Shot to create some party favors. I wanted to share how easy it was to create party favors for ANY occasion. This first picture below could easily be used as a Wedding favor or perhaps for a bridal shower favor. The box is Very Vanila c/s and the lid is the Sending Love dsp (#117153) from the Occasions Mini.
Imagine this one for a girls birthday party favor! What little girl doesn't love pink AND butterflies! Oh, and the bling! The box here is Real Red c/s and the lid is the Sending Love dsp (#117153) from the Occasions Mini. Gorgeous dsp! This last one I really like, it could be used for a little boys birthday party, isn't it cute? The box is Chocolate Chip c/s and the lid is the Tall Tales dsp (#115678). I stamped the elephant with the Animal Stories stamp set (#116716) on Whisper White c/s then cut it out. Cute, right? Thanks for visiting!

SCALLOP SQUARE DIE

Hello Crafters! I really wasn't sure where I was going with this design but I was pleasantly surprised by the results! The card is Rose Red c/s; the scallop square was cut with Kraft c/s and the Stampin' Up! Scallop Square die (#115950) with the Big Shot. I also used the Stampin' Up! Little Leave Sizzlits die (#114511) and Old Olive c/s. The stamp set is For All You Do (#115360); I "stamped off" Rose Red classic ink for the flowers then "blinged" them up a little with Dazzling Diamonds. The card size if 5 1/4 by 5 1/4, it fits perfectly in our 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 envelopes. Thanks for visiting!

BIG SHOT BOX #2

Hi Crafters! Here's a cute little box that is so easy to make, all you need is the Big Shot and Box #2 die. The die cuts and scores the box, all you have to do is fold! Cool, right? I added a small strip of Sweet Pea (Occasions Mini) dsp and punched the bird with the Large 2-Step Bird Punch (also Occasions Mini) using the same Sweet Pea dsp. A sweet Whisper White Satin bow completes the project. Thanks for visiting!

IT'S A TEA PARTY

Hi Crafters! Sharing a card I created just for fun. I had an idea to create with a triangle shape and although not super fancy, I think it came together nicely. I hope you enjoy. The card is Certain Celery c/s and I used the Tea Party dsp from the current Catalog. I cut the flower out of the same dsp, then cut a second "center" of the flower and added with Stampin' Dimensionals. I completed with a Bashful Blue button from the Sherbert designer button pack. Thanks for visiting!

DESIGN INSPIRATION

I sometimes have customers ask me, HOW I come up with design ideas for cards or layouts for scrapbook pages. Although there's nothing I love more than sitting with my sketch notepad creating ideas; it's not a mandatory requirement to be a SUp! Demonstrator! SUp! produces a monthly magazine for Demonstrators called Stampin' Success which is jammed pack with ideas that are easily duplicatable. In fact, the card I posted here was inspired by a card that appears in the April issue designed by Nancy Thompson from New York! SUp! Demonstrators are the BEST! They are always willings to share their ideas and techniques with not only their customers but also with other Demonstrators! Isn't that Cool? But maybe you're not a Demonstrator and you wonder where you can get more inspiration. Keep in mind, inspiration can be found everywhere; gift wrap paper, bath product packaging, etc. Look around you; what color schemes do you see that would look great on a card? What shapes inspire you to create something? Inspiration is EVERYWHERE! Thanks for visiting!
Oh, I forgot to mention the product I used; the card is So Saffron c/s layered with Close to Cocoa c/s and dsp from the Sweet Pea dsp pack in the Occasions Mini. I used an image from the Friends 24/7 stamp set in the current Catalog. The butterflies were made with the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings embosslit die. Thanks again.
