FIRST DAY OF COVENTION

I am here and OH MY GOODNESS! My first night here we room-mates exchanged gifts...here's a picture of all of my goodies! Thank you Jennifer, Lois, Nancy, Donna and my new friend Carrie!
What a day we had today, it was non-stop since 7:30am! First up was our Convention Bag...THANK YOU STAMPIN' UP! I like this tote A LOT...here's a picture of it with all of the goodies we received! Then we headed off to Momento Mall and YES there were lines, lines, and more lines! We stood in line for THREE HOURS!
But it was great fun meeting new ladies and having a great time chit-chatting and for those of you that know me, you know that I can chit and chat with the best of them!! LOL!
Here I am with Jennifer, Donna, Lois and Carrie standing at the end of the 3 hour line!
Unfortunately because we stood in line so long we were late for a Stamp Class that we signed up for so after the mall we ran to the class and had to forego lunch. After lunch we went back to the Convention Center to take pictures of projects then Jennifer and I headed over to the Lion Pantry for more stamping fun and CUPCAKES...CUPCAKE GOOD!! The perfect end to a perfect day!
Now we're back at the house preparing our stamps for tomorrow's classes! WHEW! Have you ever been tired and happy at the same time?! More later!

TWO IDEAS...ONE CARD

This card was inspired by two separate events. A couple of weeks ago while in the doctor's office I noticed a new decorative room divider screen. It had 3 panels and was made out of beautiful dark brown wood with a layer of orange material on each of the 3 panels and another layer of green on top of the orange. There were birds, trees and plants painted in gold on each of the 3 green panels. I filed that look away. Today while rummaging through some of my favorite cards, do you hold on to beautiful cards you've created or received? Any-HOO, I found the first card I received from my team leader, Jennifer when I became a demonstrator in 2007. I remember how much I loved that card! In fact the first stamp set I purchased was Bodacious Boquet and the first ink pads I purchased after receiving my kit were the 3 colors she used in her card; Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, and Mellow Moss. Well, I looked at this card, remembered the room screen in the doctor's office...decided to use our Cheep Talk stamp set plus the Perfect and Pale Plum colors. I'm happy with how it came out. Look around you...INSPIRATION IS EVERYWHERE!

2009 CONVENTION

This past week I've been creating a couple of gifts for the houseguests I will be rooming with at convention in Salt Lake City. I wanted to post one of the cards I made for my team leader, Jennifer. I used our new in-colors and the Razzle Dazzle stamp set. I like this set a lot and I've used it a lot! I put a button in the middle of the grommet, what do you think? Does it work? I hope Jennifer likes the card. I will be posting from convention...it will be such fun!

STILL IN NASHVILLE

I am still with family in Nashville; I came to visit my aunt and it's been more wonderful than I expected. I made a few cards to post before I left Arizona using the new in-colors; did you hear that this year for the FIRST time Stampin' Up! is offering in-color MARKERS?!! How cool is that?! AND polka dot ribbon in each of the six new in-colors! Here's a card in the Rich Razzleberry...

On July 27th I'll host a STAMP A STACK using all of the luscious in-colors!

FAMILY

This week I am in Nashville visiting an Aunt and my brothers and sister and their families. My husband and I decided to drive like we used to back in our 20's and 30's...that was a VERY LONG TIME AGO! In all honesty, it was a nice trip, of course I yak'd like crazy but Juan is used to that and I had him laughing most of the time. And we loved reading the signs; one that stands out was in Texas, it was a billboard of a couple of Highway Patrol Officers and the caption read "Going out tonight? SO ARE WE!" Gotta love that!
It was great arriving in Nashville, it feels like coming "home". I'm not sure why because I haven't really lived here; I was born here but my mother moved us to California when I was 2 and I lived here from '70 to '72 with my husband, but that's it. My mother was born and raised here and her familywas all from here; and currently my brothers and sister live here...not sure why that overwhelming feeling comes over me when I visit. Here's a picture that I tried to take from within the car to show how beautiful Nashville is and this is just a freeway shot! And another picture of my taking a well deserved break on my brother's front porch!
